Wide receiver Martavis Bryant was recently reinstated by the NFL, and it did not take him long to find a team after agreeing to join the Cowboys, in a news break first reported by renowned NBA insider Shams Charania.
The signing comes just days after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated Bryant from a four-year suspension for multiple violations of the league’s policy on substance abuse.
Him signing became a footnote as fans couldn’t get away from the fact that Shams was the one who broke this news. Not Adam Schefter.
“Breaking news in the NFL: The Dallas Cowboys are signing newly-reinstated wide receiver Martavis Bryant to a contract, according to sources,” he said in a tweet. “Bryant, who last played for the Raiders in 2018, had 17 touchdowns and 2,183 receiving yards in 44 career games.”

Bryant is reportedly set to join Dallas’s practice squad after a successful visit and workout with the team on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old last played in the NFL in 2018 as a member of the Raiders, and at that time, they were still playing in Oakland.
He last played professional football for the XFL’s Vegas Vipers earlier this year.
Bryant was drafted out of Clemson in the fourth round of the 2014 draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he recorded 28 receptions, 549 yards, and eight touchdowns in 10 games in his rookie year.
The Cowboys are hoping to capture lightning in a bottle as they rank 12th in the NFL in passing offense, generating an average of 234.9 passing yards per game.
