Shailene Woodley shared a quote about “grief” Wednesday after news of her and Aaron Rodgers breaking up yet again.
After calling off their engagement earlier this year, the actress and star quarterback have been spotted together, but things weren’t going well. Woodley is “done” with Rodgers.
The post read, “‘Grief expressed out loud for someone we have lost, or a country or home we have lost, is in itself the greatest praise we could ever give them,’ says writer Martín Prechtel. ‘Grief is praise, because it is the natural way love honors what it misses.’
The post continued, “Seeing grief in this way helps us respect what we are going through, rather than being mired in shame and discouragement on top of the pain we already feel.”
The 30-year-old and the Green Bay Packers quarterback were first rumored to have called off their engagement in February after nearly two years together. They continued to hang out with each other as they were spotted grocery shopping and then attended the wedding of his teammate David Bakhtiari.
“They were holding hands while walking around the hotel grounds,” a source told E! News in March. “They walked hand in hand through the lawn to get to the wedding.”
The relationship ended because Woodley apparently felt like everything was on Rodgers’ terms.

“Shailene tried to give it another shot and was spending time with Aaron,” an insider told E! News. “But she quickly saw that everything was on his terms and nothing was going to change. There was no reason to continue and she’s done with it again.”
Rodgers has lost Woodley and his favorite wide receiver, Davante Adams, in the same year.
