On Sunday, a dent in the Carson Wentz era took another hit after it was reported that Jalen Hurts might be starting every game for the remainder of the 2020 season.
Wentz struggles all year finally caught up with him as the team finally benched him last week.
“Same reason I made the switch in the game. We need a spark. It’s not about one guy here. We all know we need to be better,” Doug Pederson told ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio. “Doing this for the same reason; we need a spark, offense has been poor for many reasons. Opportunity for Jalen’s development. Still have great belief in Carson as a QB and leader of the team. We have to get him better and the offense as well.”
Wentz won’t be getting cut from the team due to his contract, but it is possible someone will have interest in changing his scenery and trading for him.
Two NFL teams have been mentioned the most for a possible trade for Wentz: the Colts and the Patriots.

Last week, Nick Wright of FOX Sports 1 took to his show and noted he had the Colts and the Bears vying for Wentz’s services.
“Carson Wentz is uncuttable. The question is: is he tradable? I think he’s tradable to the Colts,” said Wright, who also mentioned the Bears. “If you’re the Eagles, your only path forward is convincing the Colts to take him. I think he’s done in Philly.”
