This story just got insanely wild.
The search continues for former NFL player Sergio Brown after his mother was found dead with assault injuries near a creek behind her suburban Chicago home, but things seemingly changed late Monday night when the man they were looking for suddenly spoke out.
Sergio Brown posted on Instagram from Mexico to let everybody know that prior reports of him being seen on a ring camera burning his mother’s clothes before she was found dead are “Fake News” and that the FBI is setting him up.
Police said over the weekend, the department was informed by family members they could not locate or make contact with the woman or her son. Officers initiated a missing person report and began making attempts to locate the pair, police reported.
Myrtle Brown was discovered unresponsive near a creek to the rear of her residence. An autopsy found she died from multiple injuries related to assault and her manner of death was homicide. Police later released a photo of Sergio Brown in hopes of locating him.
Brown was a star defensive back at Notre Dame before he signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2010.
