Former NFL player Sergio Brown, whose mother was found dead last month, has finally been found.
Sergio Brown, who has been missing since September, was taken into custody this week in connection with the death of his mother. Brown, who had traveled to Mexico, was deported Tuesday and taken into custody by U.S. law enforcement officers near San Diego. Police in San Diego are working to transfer Brown from Southern California to the Chicago area.
The news comes weeks after family members reported Brown and his mother Myrtle Brown missing on Sept. 16th. The same day, police discovered the body of the 73-year-old near her home, but the former football player was not located.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said that Myrtle’s death is being investigated as a homicide, and that she died as a result of “multiple injuries due to assault.”
Brown would be missing and soon turn up in Mexico as he released numerous videos making ridiculous claims that he was being set up. While Brown didn’t explicitly refer to his mother’s death in the video, he said “It has to be the FBI.”
He then claimed that the bureau paid him an “unwarranted” visit on “Bob Marley’s death day.” He also claimed the Maywood Police Department “kidnapped” him on two occasions.

He also added he thought Myrtle was “on vacation,” and that “it had to be the FBI or Maywood PD.”
Sergio Brown played for Notre Dame in college and would go undrafted in the NFL Draft.
Brown played in the NFL for six seasons, signing with the New England Patriots in 2010 and retiring following the 2016 season, during which he played for the Bills.
