Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl on Sunday, but fans were confused when they learned that he left the big game early.
The 78-year-old Donald Trump attended Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday. The Eagles denied the Chiefs’ three-peat bid by cruising to a stunning 40-22 blowout victory.
So, why didn’t President Trump stick around for the Eagles’ celebration after making the trek to New Orleans during his busy schedule?
Speaking to Joe Harker of LADbible, international security specialist and expert Will Gesses explained that Trump needed to leave well ahead of the game’s conclusion “before the vast masses of people exiting the stadium would leave.”
Here’s what Gesses said:
“He’d have a clear exit to get out, the roads wouldn’t be so congested. They would have planned for a variety of different extraction plans, not only by road, but potentially also by air. That’s not uncommon.
“One of the biggest problems you have with security is holding someone in an environment like that for any extended period, and if at the end of the game when the final whistle blows they would have to be held because you couldn’t take them out in the mass.”
Donald Trump was at the game with his oldest daughter, Ivanka, though First Lady Melania Trump was noticeably absent. Trump, who was sworn in on Jan. 20, wrapped up his third week of his second presidential term.

With his victory over Kamala Harris, Trump became the second president to be elected for two non-consecutive terms, joining Grover Cleveland.
Donald Trump Incorrectly Predicted A Chiefs Victory
Trump was interviewed by Fox chief political anchor Bret Baier before Super Bowl 59 and was asked to predict the winner. Trump praised both teams but went with the Chiefs, citing the strong play of quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The Chiefs proved to be no match for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, who won 40-22 to secure the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy.
