The Dolphins scored 70 points in Sunday’s beatdown of the Broncos, the most points by any NFL team since 1966.
It was yet another embarrassing defeat for the Denver Broncos, but it was even worse when you think about the fact that Russell Wilson had to endure every bit of it as he played the entire game.
Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton used all players in that game except for backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham.
Wilson was on the field for each and every one of the Broncos’ 59 offensive snaps, even with the game well out of hand.
That didn’t sit well with at least one Dolphins player: Cornerback Xavien Howard exploded on Sean Payton when asked about his decision not to pull Wilson even when Tua Tagovailoa’s day was over.
“That was totally disrespectful,” Howard said. “That man did a lot for this game. They’ve got to do better on that side. You can’t be leaving guys like that out there.”
