The Philadelphia Eagles had a horrific 2020 season then ended even uglier in Week 17 when the team essentially tanked to the Washington Football Team, presumably to get a higher draft pick with a loss.
That decision likely ended the tenure of Doug Pederson as he got fired as the head coach of the team. One thing New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton does not want is the media comparing his team to the one that finished with just four wins.
The Saints have made some special teams signings this week to protect themselves from potential COVID-19 issues, which is what Philly did at the start of the 2020 season when they signed Josh McCown to their practice squad.
A reporter mentioned that to Payton and he took the time to send a massive shot at the Eagles.
“Yeah, we’re not looking at the Eagles for any model,” Payton said, via Jeff Duncan of The Athletic.
It should be noted that Payton and Doug Pederson are close friends, and he just might be upset with him losing his job just three years after he helped bring the team their first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
