It’s bad enough the New Orleans Saints are unsure of who their starting QB will be after the retirement of Drew Brees, but now they have to deal with a disgruntled WR who is responding to reports about him.
On Monday, the New Orleans Saints wide receiver sent out a cryptic tweet after reports surfaced that the former All-Pro purposely ignored team officials during the offseason when they attempted to contact him about his recovery. He allegedly ghosted the team fro 3 months.
“They tried to damage your reputation,” Thomas wrote. “You saved theirs by not telling your side of the story.”
“For unknown reasons, Thomas fell out of communication with the Saints. He did not return multiple calls over the next three months,” Jeff Duncan wrote, via NOLA.com. “Then-Saints trainer Beau Lowery, wide receivers coach Curtis Johnson and head coach Sean Payton all tried to reach Thomas. None of their calls were taken or returned.”
Saints head coach Sean Payton was aksed about Thomas’ tweet and he offered up a blunt response to reporters who were looking for a story.
“I don’t want to have a press conference based on social media,” Payton said.

Saints head coach Sean Payton addressed the media in July and stated that Thomas should have had surgery before June.
“Well, look, it appears we’re gonna have to spend some time without him. It’s disappointing,” Payton told reporters in July via ESPN. “And we’ll work through it with the other players that are here. But the surgery took place, and obviously we would’ve liked that to happen earlier than later. And quite honestly, it should’ve.”
The three-time Pro Bowler only had 40 receptions for 438 receiving yards last season.
