Every single year, it seems like there has a been a rumor that links Sean Payton to the Dallas Cowboys franchise. It took awhile but Payton has finally had enough of the talk surrounding his departure.
The New Orleans head coach addressed those rumors on a WWL radio interview on Thursday:
“I’m in my 13th year. I don’t know how to answer it,” he said, via Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune. “I feel like it’s every other year; it’s on the odd number years, so 2019 it comes up and then we’ll hear it in 2021…
“I’ve got fleur-de-lis tattoos that can’t be erased!”
He was then asked if he would be staying in New Orleans for the foreseeable future:
“That’s clearly the plan.”
From 2003-2005, Payton was the assistant head coach of the Cowboys, but has been with the Saints ever since. The Saints are 118-74 in the regular season under Payton that includes a Super Bowl victory.
