Sean McVay put many minds at ease around Los Angeles when it was announced that the head coach will be returning to the Rams for 2023.
The 36-year-old was thought to be on the verge of retirement, with many outlets stating his tenure with the team was as good as done, but McVay is sticking around for at least one more season.
Despite the lack of activity on his part when it comes to leaving, there are several notable changes afoot, with ESPN’s Field Yates reporting that the Super Bowl-winning coach is cutting five members of his coaching staff.
This is pretty significant for the Rams and it will be interesting to see whether these departures foster an improvement on the pitch, with the 2022 Super Bowl champs failing to even make the playoffs this season.
This development isn’t the only one as it pertains to departures, with McVay letting offensive coordinator Liam Coen return to Kentucky recently.
McVay is said to be looking for replacements for all of the now-vacant positions following his swing of the axe, making for another interesting watch.
