On Tuesday, it was reported that the Arizona Cardinals had fired offensive line coach and running game coordinator Sean Kugler prior to their game against the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City.
At the time, not much details were known, as Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury refused to get into specifics. All that was known was Kugler was involved in an incident in Mexico on Sunday night, and the following morning he was fired by the team prior to their Monday Night Football contest at the Estadio Azteca.
Fast forward one day later, and details have begun to emerge regarding exactly what Kugler did. And it’s not good.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kugler was fired for groping a woman in Mexico City. Via ESPN:
Mexican authorities were notified of the incident, which happened Sunday night, and then informed the Cardinals, who terminated Kugler and sent him back to Arizona on a flight Monday morning. The Cardinals had arrived in Mexico City on Saturday.
Kugler joined the Cardinals in 2019. Prior to that he had worked with the Lions, Bills, Steelers and Broncos.
