With everything that went on during that beautiful Monday Night Football game, most people can’t stop talking about the coin flip before overtime.
During the the Seattle Seahawks 27-24 OT win that handed the 49ers their first loss of the season, backup QB Geno Smith was called upon to make the coin-flip call for Seattle. Fans thought they heard him say “tails” while others heard “heads.”
Smith responded to the viral moment with a comment on Twitter.
“Basically how the media works now a days.. clout chasing ruined the world!” Smith said.
Smith basically confirms he indeed said heads as heard on the video.
In the end, Wilson led the Seahawks to victory thanks to a late field goal from kicker Jason Myers.
