Jamal Adams seems to know which team he’d like to play for in 2024, in the likely event that the Seattle Seahawks release him ahead of free agency.
Many expect Seattle to release the oft-injured safety after another lackluster season in the Pacific Northwest. The three-time Pro Bowler has been limited to 34 games as a Seahawk since coming over via trade with the New York Jets four years ago.
Well, those very Jets appear to be the team that Adams is keen on joining if he ends up hitting the open market…
Replying to a fan’s comment on an Instagram post, Adams wrote, “run it back Lucas.” When another fan told Adams he shouldn’t have left Gotham in the first place, Adams said he simply “didn’t wanna play for” his head coach (at the time, it was Adam Gase).
Adams had an excellent first season in Seattle in 2020, tallying 9.5 sacks that marked a single-season record for a defensive back. But Adams hasn’t recorded a single sack over the last three years, and his well-documented issues in pass coverage leave Seattle with a rather easy choice to move on in a cap-saving move this offseason.
And if Adams gets his apparent wish? The Jets will bring him back four years after the initial breakup.
