The 2019 NFL season came to a disappointing end for the Seattle Seahawks after losing to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round. It didn’t take very long for Jadeveon Clowney to start thinking about his future soon after the game.
Clowney is set to test the market as a free agent and he made it clear that he won’t be signing with terrible teams, only contenders.
“I just want to win,” Clowney said.
“I want to get that Super Bowl, by any means. That’s what I’m looking for. Who’s going to get me there? I’m not looking to get on no sorry team for no money. That ain’t gonna fly. I’m not going to fight through all that just to lose 16 games and go home with my check. I hate that. That ain’t what I’m doing. If I can’t do that – I’m not going to no team that can’t win.”
There are certainly going to be numerous teams interested in signing Clowney this offseason, however, his comments indicate a good portion of teams will be excluded off his list.
He finished the regular season with 31 tackles, three sacks, four forced fumbles, and an interception. He added 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks in two games in the postseason.
