The Seattle Seahawks fans base is showing major gratitude to the Detroit Lions for defeating the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football and sending them into the postseason.
The Seattle Seahawks’ social media team kicked things off after the Detroit Lions downed the Green Bay Packers to give the NFC West team the seventh — and final — playoff berth in the NFC.
For the fan base, they decided to reach into their wallets and bank accounts to show their appreciation for the Lions with some donations. Many have sent money to the Lions Foundation following their 20-16 win.
The Seahawks kept their playoff hopes alive earlier in the day by beating the Los Angeles Rams, 19-16, in overtime, which left them needing a Lions win or tie to send Seattle to the playoffs as the NFC’s seventh seed.
The Seahawks will now head to Santa Clara to play the No. 2-seeded San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round Saturday. Seattle has lost twice this season to its divisional rival. It will be a tall task since the 49ers are winners of 10-straight.
