A lot of people have had a lot to say since the Green Bay Packers finally traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets earlier this week.
Nobody has been more harsh about the move than former NFL quarterback Scott Mitchell. Now co-host of the KSL Sports “Unrivaled” podcast, Mitchell talked about the former Green Bay Packers quarterback and the move to his new team.
Co-host Alex Kirry asked Mitchell about the chances of Rodgers taking the Jets to the Super Bowl.
“I don’t believe he will get [the Jets] to the Super Bowl,” Mitchell said. When asked to put odds on Rodgers leading the Jets to the big game, Mitchell said, “12%.”
Mitchell kept going.
“I don’t believe he’s going to get them to the Super Bowl,” Mitchell said. “He couldn’t get the Packers to the Super Bowl.”
Kirry then pointed out that Rodgers won a Super Bowl, but Mitchell fired back with, “A long, long, long, long, long time ago; think of all the (playoff) games that they had at home, like four. You don’t lose (playoff) games at Lambeau Field.”

Green Bay was a top-10 offense that year and also a top-5 defense. The team’s defense has never finished a season top 5 in both points and yards allowed since the Super Bowl run.
He then proceeded to rip Rodgers.
“Aaron Rodgers may be overrated and washed up,” he said. “He’s going to get washed up with the Jets.”
Mitchell played 11 years in the NFL (1991-2001) with four teams, primarily the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions.
Rodgers won four NFL MVPs and has a Super Bowl ring. He is coming off one of his worst seasons, but he played through injuries. In 2022, Rodgers threw for 3,695 passing yards and 26 passing touchdowns in 17 games.
He will now join a Jets team with a formidable running game led by Breece Hall and the Offensive Rookie of the Year in Garrett Wilson. Just this offseason, the team signed Allen Lazard and put Nathaniel Hackett on the coaching staff.
The Jets will have one of the toughest schedules in the entire league. It will be a tough task, but it’s Super Bowl or bust.
