As previously noted, New York Jets’ star cornerback Sauce Gardner posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) of New England Patriots’ quarterback Mac Jones hitting him in the private parts.
This was the initial video posted by Gardner.
On Monday afternoon, Dianna Russini of The Athletic posted a more clear angle of the incident in a video she received from a league source. The video below clearly supports Gardner’s allegations of Jones inappropriately hitting him:
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk heard from a league source that the NFL would be looking into Gardner’s allegation.
Per ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Jones said “No” when asked if his alleged low blow on Gardner was low. The third-year quarterback said he was simply seeking a first down, and that it was “definitely a physical play.”

The Patriots narrowly held on for a 15-10 win over their longtime rivals, with Jets’ wideout Randall Cobb just missing a Hail Mary catch on the game’s final play. The Patriots have now won 15 consecutive games against New York, having last fallen to them in Week 16 of the 2015 season.
New England will try to reach .500 for the first time this season when they visit the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, while Gardner and the Jets will stay home for a home tilt with the Kansas City Chiefs.
