ESPN’s Sage Steele has made headlines for what she said about being forced to get the vaccine to keep her job with the Worldwide Leader In Sports.
Aside from that, she also spoke on how up-and-coming female reporters dress and the reactions they subsequently receive.
“When you dress like that, I’m not saying you deserve the gross comments, but you know what you’re doing when you put that outfit on too,” Steele said during an episode of Uncut with Jay Cutler.
Sarah Spain, a current co-worker at ESPN, made sure she took to Twitter to voice her opposing opinion on the matter.
“Just a reminder to women journalists–and women everywhere–that what you wear should have no effect on whether or not you’re safe at work.
Your clothes aren’t harassing you, human beings are. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re at fault for your own victimization.”

What Sage Steele had to say about the vaccine mandate:
“I didn’t want to do it,” Steele said regarding getting vaccinated. “But I work for a company that mandates it and I had until September 30 to get it done or I’m out.
“…I respect everyone’s decision, I really do, but to mandate it is, um, sick. And it’s scary to me in many ways. But I have a job, a job that I love, and frankly, a job that I need, but again, I love it. I’m not surprised it got to this point, especially with Disney, a global company…but it was actually emotional.”
The long-time anchor said she got the vaccine despite her apprehension, because she wanted to preserve her job. Steele has been with the company since 2007.
