Saquon Barkley is currently embroiled in a contractual dispute with the New York Giants. And it appears he was keen on showing them what they’ll be missing should they let things go south.
The running back hasn’t been much of a presence amid the Giants’ preparations for the upcoming 2023 season. However, fans should be under no illusions – he’s staying ready.
A video has surfaced online – by “surfaced,” we mean he posted it – showing the two-time Pro Bowler box squatting close to 600 pounds.
The 26-year-old took to Instagram to share the insane feat. While it’s not clear exactly how much weight was on there, it looks to be 585 lbs, assuming that the plates are the standard 45lb ones.

We can’t be sure this was a message to the Giants, but it certainly seems like one. The team remains intent on having the RB play on the franchise tag, which would cost them around $10 million.

On the other hand, the player wants a lot more money on a lengthy contract and has said he’s willing to sit the season out if they can’t reach a deal by July 17 – so that’s where things are right now.
