It appears Saquon Barkley might be totally disenchanted with the New York Giants following his failure to land a long-term deal with the team.
The franchised-tagged running back saw any chance of signing an extension with the team evaporate this week and he’s now set to decide whether he should play on the tag or sit out the entire season.
The 26-year-old has since removed the Giants from his social media bios.
The running back position appears to be under attack this offseason, with Josh Jacobs also not getting an extension with the Las Vegas Raiders despite waiting in the parking lot up until the deadline.
Barkley had an amazing 2022 season in which he helped the Giants win their first playoff game since 2011, running for 1,312 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns. He also logged an additional 338 yards as a receiver.
Since then, some of his teammates have gotten lucrative extensions from the team, including Daniel Jones, who landed himself a four-year deal worth $160 million.

Barkley, on the other hand, couldn’t even get the Giants to commit to an extension that would get him an extra year.
It’s going to be really interesting to see how things pan out between the parties.
