It appears Saquon Barkley will be rocking a different uniform for the first time in his NFL career.
A new report says the New York Giants and the running back are “probably headed towards a divorce”, per Ralph Vacchiano.
Barkley has been with the Giants since they drafted him second overall in 2018. He agreed to play the 2023 season on a revised franchise tag after the two sides failed to agree on a long-term contract following the team signing quarterback Daniel Jones to a lucrative deal.
He signed a one-year contract in July that paid him $10.1 million, which included a $2 million signing bonus.
The 26-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year opens in March and all signs are pointing to him heading elsewhere.
