New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley has dropped an interesting hint via social media on where he might play next.
Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reported on Monday that the Giants are highly unlikely to give Barkley the franchise tag this offseason. With Barkley now 27 years of age, the expectation is that New York will let their star player walk to free agency.
The @TexanTeaTv X/Twitter account caught something interesting which has some convinced that Barkley is planning to join the Houston Texans. The account noted that Barkley is following Texans legend J.J. Watt, and current players C.J. Stroud, Tank Dell, Nico Collins and Brevin Jordan on Instagram:
The Texans actually make sense as a potential landing spot for Barkley, too. For one, they’re an emerging contender in the AFC after winning the AFC South division crown in year one of the Stroud-DeMeco Ryans era.
Houston also has plenty of cap space and could use an upgrade at running back. Veteran Devin Singletary finished as the Texans’ leading rusher with 898 yards, but he’s a pending free agent and unlikely to be retained.

Stroud, Collins and Tell round out a promising nucleus on offense, and a game-changing running back like Barkley could be the final piece needed to help Houston close the gap with AFC heavyweights like Kansas City, Baltimore, Buffalo and Cincinnati.
