Time is running out for NFL teams to sign long-term players who were given franchise designations.
At some point before the July 15 deadline, the Giants and Saquon Barkley will come to some kind of agreement on a contract whether it be a new deal or a tender.
One New York Giants fan decided to take matters into his own hands by finding Saquon’s home address so he could beg him to sign the deal.
“Saquon, we love you, sign the deal!”
On July 25th, the Giants veterans will report for training camp and Barkley is expected to be on hand. After he was away from the team for the offseason program this spring, there were a lot of fans worried he’d be a camp holdout.
By July 17th, we will find out if Barkley and the Giants come to terms on a long-term extension. Worst-case scenario: Barkley will play the 2023 campaign on the non-exclusive franchise tag, which will bring him home $10.1 million.
