Sam Ponder, host of ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown,” is being called out on social media.
The ESPN broadcast, who hosts alongside Randy Moss, Rex Ryan, and more, is being called out on social media site X for what she had tied on her head live during the broadcast on Sunday.
During Sunday’s broadcast of ESPN’s NFL Countdown, some fans recorded her outfit or posted a picture showing a peculiar piece of item tied to her ponytail.
Will Sam Ponder respond to the backlash from this? No. Does she care? Likely no as well.
There’s a chance she has no clue that people were even speaking about her outfit in this manner.

Ponder is no stranger to controversy as she faced criticism for a tweet in which she called for “fairness” in girls’ sports in response to a tweet about transgender athletes competing in high school sports.
Ponder quote tweeted Riley Gaines, a former University of Kentucky swimmer who has been outspoken about men in women’s sports. Ponder claimed she’s been told stories of girls who want to speak up but won’t because they will get called “hateful.”
The tweet caught the attention of USA Today columnist Nancy Armour, who wrote a column calling Ponder out for “bigotry.”
Ponder has worked at ESPN for over a decade and has been the host of NFL Countdown since 2017.
