Being a QB in New York is hard enough with the mounting pressures to be great, but it makes it even worse when you are looked on to change the course of a perennial loser franchise like the New York Jets.
That pressure is now gone after the Jets traded Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers this week.
The former No. 3 pick was aboslutely thrilled about his new team and his reaction was caught on video when he showed up to a party to celebrate.
In return for Darnold, the Jets received three picks: a sixth-rounder in the 2021 draft later this month and a second-rounder and fourth-rounder in 2022.
In 2020, led the New York Jets to a record of just 2-10 in 12 starts, completing under 60-percent of his throws.
The Jets are expected to select Darnold’s replacement with the No. 2 overall pick in the April 29 draft in Cleveland.
