Saints Undrafted Rookie OL Decided To Retire Days After Signing With Team

Alex Hoffman is calling it a career after….zero games played.

The undrafted free agent who signed with the New Orleans Saints after the 2021 NFL Draft is reportedly retiring, per Saints reporter Nick Underhill.

Saints rookie offensive lineman Alex Hoffman has retired, per source. He signed as a UDFA after the draft.

According to a Helena (Montana) Independent Record report, Hoffman’s retirement comes on the heels of him finding out he’d been accepted into the St. Louis University medical school.

He was a former high school quarterback who led his team a Utah state title, but blossomed into a stout offensive tackle. He was a four-year letterwinner at Carroll College, twice earning Frontier Conference first-team all-conference.
