The New Orleans Saints offense is a force to be reckoned with, as they showed this past Monday night when they dropped 34 points on the Indianapolis Colts before the opposing team could score their first seven late in the 4th quarter.
In that game, 3rd-string QB Taysom Hill had 2 receptions for 42 yards and 1 touchdown, which was significant because he now has five touchdowns on the year.
That number exceeds the number of TD’s that some high level WR’s have so far in 2019. That list includes Davante Adams, Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Odell Beckham Jr.
It’s a not a knock on those other guys, rather a nod to Sean Payton and his ability to utilize Hill in different ways to get him involved in the offense.
Hill came into the league as a quarterback, but has only thrown 11 career passes for 99 yards and 1 interception. He has been useful as a running back, racking up 337 rushing yards and 3 TD’s in 60 attempts, while catching 19 career passes for 172 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns.
He has two more games this year to add to his growing total.
