Now this takes protesting to an entirely different level.
The good folks in New Orleans had been furious over the past two weeks after they watched in horror when referees in the NFC Championship game missed a call that would ultimately cost the Saints a chance to play in Super Bowl LIII.
The city vowed to ignore the Super Bowl and held a ‘Boycott Bowl’ while many restaurants played the Super Bowl from 2010 instead.
One Saints fan took his boycott to the grave.
“Henry A. Jaume, Sr. Age 65, Passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 1:00 P.M,” less than five hours before kickoff, according to his obituary, because he was “determined not to watch Super Bowl LIII.”
That is quite the dedication to the cause. The cause of death for the US Army veteran was not revealed, though he was likely grinning from the skies as the Rams could only muster 3 points all game long in the loss to the New England Patriots.
