Thank goodness he was able to walk off, but Chris Olave took a hard shot to his head during a scary play against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Saints wide receiver caught a touchdown pass, but as he came down to the ground with the defender, he had his head slammed onto the turf.
He seemed to be knocked out for a few seconds, as the ball fell out of his arms and he laid motionless on the ground.
The good news is Olave was able to get up and walk off on his own. He was seen motioning for a touchdown as he made his way off the field. And the people in the review booth listened, as he was awarded the score upon further review.
He is surely going to be checked for a concussion. And based on the protocol that bans a player from returning after showing loss of gross motor skills, we wouldn’t expect to see the rookie return for the rest of the day.
