New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is facing a $10 million lawsuit for his alleged assault on a man in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During the 2022 Pro Bowl weekend in Las Vegas, and one week before the Super Bowl, Kamara was arrested for allegedly attacking a man, Darnell Greene Jr., at a nightclub. Video footage showed Kamara punching Greene eight times, and the attack left the latter hospitalized,
The police report claimed that Kamara prevented him from entering an elevator, and that the attack left Greene with “an orbital fracture on his right eye.”
Via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Greene is seeking a minimum of $5 million for “punitive damages” and $5 million for “compensatory damages. The lawsuit claims that Greene suffered face, knees, shoulder, neck and back injuries, per Florio.
Furthermore, the lawsuit claimed that Kamara said, “I connected with the (expletive])s jaw so hard.”
In August, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Kamara is “unlikely” to be suspended at the start of the 2022 season because the case kept getting pushed back. At this time, it looks like the NFL will wait until the conclusion of the case before they hand down any discipline.
New Orleans drafted Kamara in the third round (67th overall) back in 2017. He won Offensive Rookie of the Year honors after rushing for 728 yards and eight touchdowns to go along with 81 receptions for 826 yards and five receiving TDs.

The five-time Pro Bowler has missed two of the Saints’ first five games because of injury. He returned in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks and led the Saints to a much-needed 39-32 victory. Through three games, Kamara has 203 rushing yards and 11 receptions for 110 yards.
Kamara and the Saints will try to get back to .500 when they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. With Jameis Winston injured, Andy Dalton will get the start against his former team.
