It appears Alvin Kamara won’t be playing to start the 2020 season.
On Monday, it was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the New Orleans Saints running back has had 3-straight unexcused absences from camp and it might be contract related.
Kamara is entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2020 and looking for an extension from New Orleans that pays him near the top of the market for running backs.
Kamara is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
During the 2019 season, he played in 14 games and rushed for 797 yards on 171 carries (4.7 YPC) to go along with 81 receptions for 533 yards receiving and six total touchdowns.
