The Tennessee Titans clinched the top seed in the AFC for the first time in 14 years, beating the Houston Texans 28-25 on Sunday behind Ryan Tannehill’s four touchdown passes that tied his career high.
After the Titans wrapped their regular season on Sunday that earned them a first-round bye, the wife of Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill took to social media to celebrate.
“1 seed (had to use the finger) I have been walking around the house telling him he’s #1 all week,” Lauren wrote Sunday on her Instagram Story.
In a separate post, Lauren swooned over her husband of nine years, writing: “Okay big Daddy sheesh.”

After a great first half, the Tennessee Titans were clinging to a 3-point lead in the fourth quarter Sunday, having allowed the Houston Texans to score 18 unanswered points.
“That was my mindset that we needed our best football,” said Tannehill, who tied a career high for TD passes in a game. “I needed to be great in that critical moment, and we were able to make those plays.”
Tannehill help engineer an eight-play, 85-yard drive capped by his fourth touchdown pass of the day. He was 23 of 32 for 287 yards for the game.
The Tennessee Titans had declined to activate running back Derrick Henry for the regular-season finale against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Tennessee still expects Henry to be back in time for the playoffs, and it makes it even better with them having a first round bye to give him even more time to be ready.
Henry was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 1 because of a fractured foot he suffered in the team’s 34-31 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.
He had rushed for so much by that time, his 937 rushing yards still ranks sixth among all running backs this season.
