Tua Tagovailoa was carted off the field in the second quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals after getting thrown to the ground amid a vicious sack by Josh Tupou.
Tagovailoa’s head and back slammed into the turf which left him on his back with the fingers of both hands in a rigid position. He was evaluated and ultimately loaded onto the stretcher. He was taken to a local hospital in Cincinnati and ruled out of the game with head and neck injuries, according to the Dolphins.
It just looks like it might be a life-changing injury, and Ryan Shazier knows all about that.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, who suffered a career-ending injury against the Bengals, took to Twitter and sent a message to support for the Dolphins QB.
“(Prayers) for Tua. May god be with you and hopefully okay. The staff in UC hospital do a great job with care. You’re in great hands,” Shazier tweeted.
Teddy Bridgewater entered Thursday’s game in Tagovailoa’s place.
