Former New England Patriots and Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett reportedly passed away.
Deltaplex News reported Mallett drowned in Florida, was transported to a hospital from a beach, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
He was only 35.
Mallett played quarterback for Arkansas from 2008-2010 before being drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played seven seasons with the Patriots, Texans, and Ravens.
2010 was his best year in college football. He threw for 3,869 yards and 32 touchdowns and earned 2nd-team All-SEC honors.

He last played in 2017.
He most recently was coaching high school football at White Hall High School in Arkansas.
Mallett played 21 career games with eight starts, passing for 1,835 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
