A starting center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have suffered a career-ending injury as the team has indicated that Ryan Jensen will be placed on the season-ending injured reserve list and won’t feature in any games next season.
The team opted to go in this direction with the player due to complications resulting from a knee injury that kept him out for most of last season, per GM Jason Licht.
The former Pro Bowler suffered the setback during training camp last year and was unable to suit up until the Wild Card playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, which Tampa Bay ended up losing.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has reported that the injury has likely ended Jensen’s career.
Should that be the case, it would be especially unfortunate as the 32-year-old Colorado native chose to forego surgery after going down injured and was able to make a playoff appearance.
His absence will be a huge loss for the team and its fans given his effectiveness and popularity.
