Tom Brady hates to lose. That’s certainly no secret. And on Thursday, journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick shared a story further illustrating just how much the GOAT hates the bitter taste of defeat.
While speaking on the America’s Caddie show on ESPN+, Fitzpatrick was asked about his most memorable NFL moment. Having failed to win a Super Bowl, he went with the next coolest accomplishment for any quarterback these days: Beating Tom Brady.
Fitzpatrick beat Brady on three occasions, with each of the Bills, Jets and Dolphins. According to the 39-year-old (who played for nine different NFL teams), following his first victory over Brady during his days with the Bills, Brady didn’t stick around to shake Fitz’s hand. Because of that, Fitzpatrick made it a point to find Brady and get his handshake when he beat Brady for his second time as a member of the Jets.

“Beating Tom Brady, after the first time, because after the first time he didn’t shake my hand,” Fitzpatrick said, via Insider.com. “I was on the Jets [for the second win, four years later], and I had to chase him down on the 50-yard line…
“Apparently, he hates losing more than everybody else hates losing,” Fitzpatrick said. “When he does lose, I want a handshake.”
I doubt Fitzpatrick feels bad about getting snubbed, nor should he. After all, he’s not the first to get snubbed by Brady. In fact, the GOAT has built quite the reputation for his knack for ducking out early after losses.
Just ask Nick Foles and Jared Goff…
