Denver Broncos’ quarterback Russell Wilson revealed to reporters on Thursday that he’s lost weight this offseason, though the future Hall of Famer didn’t want to specify how much.
Per Zac Stevens of DNVR, the 34-year-old quarterback told reporters that feel great after losing weight. You can see a photo of Wilson looking leaner in Stevens’ tweet below:
The Broncos acquired the perennial Pro Bowler in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks last year. Before taking a snap for his new team, Wilson was then handed a five-year contract extension worth $245 million.
Wilson was widely expected to propel the Broncos into Super Bowl contention, but the AFC West club wound up being a colossal disappointment in 2022.
Head coach Nathaniel Hackett was fired following a blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas day. Wilson also stood no chance behind an atrocious offensive line that allowed him to take 55 sacks in 15 games.
Denver acquired ex-New Orleans Saints’ legendary head coach Sean Payton via trade, hoping the Super Bowl 44 champion can help Wilson regain his star-like form. The Broncos are coming off a sixth straight losing season and haven’t made the playoffs since 2015, when they won Super Bowl 50 in Peyton Manning’s final season.
