Wow! Could you imagine how different the NFL landscape would look right now if Russell Wilson had gone to the Philadelphia Eagles last year?
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it was close to happening. The highly-respected NFL insider claims that the former Seattle Seahawks quarterback was nearly dealt to the Eagles, as well as their NFC East rivals, the Washington Commanders.
As the report states, the Eagles and Commanders were looking like the two most likely destinations for Wilson during the 2022 Combine. In the end, however, Russ decided that he would only accept a trade to the Denver Broncos.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
It’s crazy how much different things could have worked out had Wilson been traded to the Eagles. As you all know by now, Philly rode their eventual starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts, all the way to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
With Wilson under center, you can’t help but think Philly wouldn’t have even come close to that level of success, based on what we saw from the Broncos quarterback last season.

As for the Seahawks, you can’t help but wonder how much better they’d be right now had they gotten Hurts as part of their return in a trade with the Eagles.
