While it’s been reported that Russell Wilson is hardly drawing interest from teams around the NFL, the quarterback is also reportedly set to meet with another team following his release from the Denver Broncos.
Free agency hasn’t quite kicked off yet, but Wilson can speak to other teams before his official release as the Broncos have permitted him to hold discussions with interested organizations.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac, the Steelers are looking to meet with the QB in the coming days.
Dulac previously reported that the Steelers were not expected to show interest in other quarterbacks this offseason, with Wilson, Kirk Cousins, Justin Fields, and Ryan Tannehill all likely to be available. However, it appears the team has changed their stance.
He also claims that Russ has already spoken to one team this week, which is why the Steelers are hoping to get a jump on any other interested parties.

Kenny Pickett remains on the roster in Pittsburgh, and the team is said to be keen on building around him. General manager Omar Khan has also revealed that they want to re-sign Mason Rudolph, but Wilson could be had on the cheap given that he’s owed $39 million by Denver this year and could afford to sign for a veteran’s minimum with any other team.
