The Washington Commanders have let teams, and the world, know what they want most this offseason: A quarterback. This is not even close to being a secret about their intentions.
The franchise has started 32 quarterbacks since it won the Super Bowl after the 1991 season and eight over the past three years. Head coach Ron Rivera would like for that carossouel to stop.
Russell Wilson is a QB that has been mentioned as a possibility, and he was recently asked about potentially becoming a Commander during an interview on the Today show on NBC.
“I’m from Richmond, I know what you mean, I got people hitting me up every day, all my friends and all that from the East Coast but Seattle’s the place I’m at right now and I love it,” Wilson said.
Russell Wilson trade rumors have been swirling since last offseason when the veteran QB stated his frustrations with the franchise in a very public way. Eventually he and the front office got back on the same page, but the season did not go as planned and the team did not qualify for the postseason.
Over the past four seasons Washington ranks last in total QBR and have a 24-41 record during that time period.
