Tragedy struck the NFL world after the news came down that Tavaris Jackson died in a single-car crash in Alabama, TMZ reported Monday morning. Jackson was 36 years old.
It was reported that Jackson, who played quarterback nine years in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks, had his Chevrolet Camaro overturned after hitting a tree. He was rushed to the hospital and eventually pronounced dead.
Soon after the news broke, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, whom Jackson backed up for three seasons, honored his former teammate on Twitter.
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, who oversaw Jackson’s best season in 2011, also took to Twitter and sent his condolensces.

The 36-year-old former second-round pick of the Vikings back in 2006 played in 60 games in his nine year career, racking up 7,263 yards, 39 touchdowns and 35 interceptions.
