Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson is apparently confusing the offense by calling audibles to Seahawks plays. Things are not going too well over in the Mile High City for Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos. He and first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett are off to a 3-6 start and not on the same page.
According to Tyler Polumbus, a former Seahawks tackle who played with Wilson, the QB is “losing his mind out there” and confounding his teammates by using phrases from his Seattle days.
“Russell is losing his mind out there. He’s losing his mind,” Polumbus said. “He’s at the line of scrimmage using audibles from the Seahawks. The guys don’t know what the audibles are. I mean, he’s using code words that guys don’t know what the code words are.
They’re coming back to the huddle and they’re like, ‘Dude, what are you saying up there? We don’t know what the play — we don’t know what that is. He’s losing his mind right now.”
This is not what the Broncos envisioned when they signed him to a five-year, $242 million deal with $161 million in guarantees.
Every time we get an update on Russell Wilson it somehow gets worse.

For the year Wilson has thrown just seven touchdown passes and five picks. He has already taken 29 sacks when he had 33 all last year in 14 games. Wilson’s passer rating is 81.4 and his QBR is 33.0, which ranks No. 27 in the league.
Wilson was supposed to be a franchise quarterback signed through 2028 and in Year 1, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong.
