Denver Broncos fans may be sad to realize that Russell Wilson made the roster for the team, even though he was never in danger of that happening to begin with.
Wilson is getting set for the most important season of his career, because it will determine if he still has anything left in the tank to be a winning quarterback.
He didn’t play as advertised last year under Nathaniel Hackett and after he signed a huge deal once he was traded from Seattle.
Some expect him to rebound under Sean Payton, but not everybody has faith in him.
Former Super Bowl winning WR James Jones made it clear that has no confidence in him.
“Zero,” Jones said. “When you watch a quarterback play or anybody play, you say, ‘Alright he had about four bad games but he also had three really good ones.’ However many Russ played last year, that’s how many bad ones he had in a row. I was watching the games like, ‘Russ is gonna be Russ, here it comes’ but he was never Russ. There’s nothing that he has done to show me that he is going to get out of this.”

Wilson threw for 3,524 yards and 16 touchdowns against 11 interceptions last season while posting by far the lowest quarterback rating (84.4) and QBR (36.7) of his career.
The Denver Broncos offense was a complete mess with him behind center. It eventually led to the dismissal of head coach Nathaniel Hackett after just 15 games. Wilson had a quarterback rating over 100 each of his last four seasons in Seattle and has already built a Hall of Fame resume at his age. He would still like to remain a starting quarterback in the league before he decides to head off into the sunset.
