Russell Wilson has been the subject of non-stop clowning throughout this 2022 season, but it initially began with the Seattle Seahawks and former teammates of his. This time around, it has to do with his current teammates not liking him very much.
On Wednesday, a report stated that his wife, Ciara, sent out invitations for his teammates to show up to his 34th birthday party and about half of the squad actually showed up. This report followed teammate Mike Purcell yelling at the Broncos quarterback on the sideline and one day after a report that Wilson “has lost some people in that locker room.”
Wilson clearly saw all the reports, which is why he responded back to those reports. Wilson declared that he has “great relationships” in the Broncos locker room.
“I’ve got great relationships in that locker room. So whoever is trying to tear it down, you can’t,” Wilson said.
Mike Klis of 9News reported Wednesday that Wilson’s wife Ciara threw a birthday party for the 34-year-old, in which “it looked like about half the team was there.”
Coach Nathaniel Hackett dismissed reports that not all of Wilson’s teammates are on board with him, calling it “gossip.”

No matter what the issue is in the locker room, no one in Denver expected Wilson and the Broncos to be in this position. The Broncos being 3-8 is one problem, but they also rank last in the NFL in scoring at 14.3 points per game.
It frustrating to the defense that has allowed the third-fewest points per game at 17.6. If the offense was just average, this team would be in a much better place and that speaks to how bad Wilson has been at not being able to move the offense down the field to score points.
