There’s hardly any interest in quarterback Russell Westbrook following his release from the Denver Broncos, according to NFL Network’s James Palmer.
The AFC side announced cutting the player earlier this week, which leaves him as one of the bigger-name players on the market ahead of free agency. Still, he isn’t thought to have commanded much attention around the league since the development.
“I spoke to multiple quarterback-needy teams today, and all of them told me right now that Russell Wilson is not an option,” Palmer said on Thursday morning.
The insider added that the market could change once free agency kicks off and the draft takes shape in April. However, he thinks it’s “wild” that a player of Wilson’s ilk is drawing such little attention.
While things haven’t gone as planned since he was traded to the Broncos, Wilson is still a very good QB.

A nine-time Pro Bowler, the 35-year-old posted a QB rating of over 100 in each of his last four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks before being traded to Denver. His numbers since the move, though they include career lows, are hardly terrible.
Even so, Wilson failed to take the Broncos to the playoffs in two attempts, and it might be working against him.
That Denver was so desperate to get rid of him, even taking on a record amount in dead money, can’t look great on his CV either.
