A photo of a very unhappy-looking Russell Wilson has gone viral this weekend, with the Denver Broncos starting quarterback taking a load off at a casino.
Whether or not he had a generally good time is unknown but, at the moment the photo was taken, the 2013 Super Bowl champion looked overwhelmingly dejected. Take a look right below.
Wilson has had a torrid season following his trade from the Seattle Seahawks and was unfortunate to suffer a concussion right when he started playing well. The injury was sustained during last week’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Russell Wilson Won’t Be Risked This Week
The QB has since cleared concussion protocols, yet he will not be allowed to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday as head coach Nathaniel Hackett has opted to give him extra time.
Wilson is said to have been keen on facing the Cards this weekend but faced objections from the team, who have apparently placed his health over a potential win. It’s not like they’re going to make it to the playoffs anyhow, so why risk it?
Backup Brett Rypien will start as the signal caller for the Broncos as they look to catch a five-game skid. The Broncos are actually the oddsmakers’ favorite to win vs. Arizona this Sunday.

Are they perhaps suggesting that Denver is better off without Wilson?
It’s been a regrettable year for the nine-time Pro Bowl QB, who has even been criticized by a man considered to be his mentor. Last week, Warren Moon insisted Wilson is the one responsible for his struggles as he’s had his heart set on passing from the pocket though he’s clearly not suited for it.
