These days in the National Football League, coaches are being hired really young. That was evident when the Los Angeles Rams hired Sean Mcvay when he was just 30 years old. He became the youngest NFL head coach in the modern era when he was hired by the Rams in 2017. He was also the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl, make multiple Super Bowl appearances, and be named the AP NFL Coach of the Year.
Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson is now experiencing having a younger coach. The 34-year-old veteran QB will be six years older than his new quarterback coach, the 28-year-old Davis Webb.
Webb started the final game of the Giants’ 2022 regular season and was the Giants’ third-round pick in 2017. He also spent time with the Jets and Bills before returning to the Giants, after head coach Brian Daboll was hired away from Buffalo, in February 2022.
His first coaching stop will come on Payton’s new staff in Denver. The former Saints head coach was hired when the Broncos finalized a package of picks to send to New Orleans.
He has a tall task as he will try and fix everything that went wrong with Russell Wilson in his first year with the Broncos.
The Broncos were picked by many to either win the AFC West or make the playoffs last season, and they were downright awful in every facet of the game.
