Ryan Tannehill is going to have even more reason to be upset.
Tannehill signed a four-year extension after the 2019 season, but the Titans have made moves that seem to suggest that the 2022 season will be his last with the franchise. According to the latest rumor, it seemed like they wanted 2021 to be the last time he played for them, but things did not work out for them.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Titans explored trade options on Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers. Watson would be traded to the Cleveland Browns while Rodgers re-signed with the Packers.
“There is a lot riding on this season for Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans. They were dipping their toes in on Aaron Rodgers during the offseason before he re-signed in Green Bay. They checked in on Deshaun Watson and found that he wouldn’t be traded in the division.”
Tannehill has a 30-13 regular-season record as Tennessee’s starter.
Malik Willis, who was considered a likely first-round draft pick, slipped all the way to the third round. The scouting consensus is the former Liberty star needs at least one year to develop on the bench behind a veteran.

Tannehill is now settling into a win or you’re gone season after the team squandered an opportunity last season by losing their first playoff game as the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
If Willis is going to learn the position at the highest level, he won’t have Tannehill to do it.
“I don’t think it’s my job to mentor him,” Tannehill said, “but if he learns from me along the way, then that’s a great thing.”
