A surprising early pick could be up for grabs ahead of the NFL Draft, with a handful of teams said to have an interest in trading up for it.
The Cardinals are not in the market for a quarterback as they are sticking by Kyler Murray. Their No. 4 overall pick is just as valuable as the No. 1 pick because the Bears, Commanders, and Patriots are ahead of them and are all likely to pick a QB.
“It’s a great position. It’s the pole position,” NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah notes. “You more than likely are going to get your choice of any other (non-QB) position in the draft. And if you want to auction it? You might have a chance to do that.”
According to uStadium, the Cardinals could opt to do the latter, though selecting Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. seems like the obvious choice.
General manager Monto Ossenfort seems to be open to all options at the moment.
“Any time there are people in front of you, you are always kind of sitting there,” he explained. “Last year we had to wait and see what happened at 1 and 2. That’s similar to this year. We will try to, as best we can, ascertain what’s out there, but in all reality no one knows and no one will know until that night in April. Once we get closer, that last week to 10 days, that’s when we start to go through scenarios.”

Should Arizona make their pick available, they would attract plenty of buzz as non-quarterback-needy teams will be keeping them busy.
